We are excited to announce that we have acquired the respected Barons Winery brand. Barons, known particularly for its Cabernet Sauvignon, has been a stalwart of Washington wine since its founding in 1999 by five “barons” of timber, agriculture, and business.
When the Barons leadership decided it was time to retire, we jumped at the chance to acquire this highly-regarded label and continue their incredible legacy of production and service under the Capital Call Vintners brand.
To honor the acquisition, we are producing two bottles in tribute to this treasured winery:

Our 2022 Barons Cabernet Sauvignon will be 95% Red Mountain fruit with 5% fruit from our estate Wheatfield Vines Vineyard—all the big bold flavor Barons is known for with a soupçon of bright elegance. This bottle will bear the traditional and familiar Barons label.
The 2022 Terra Barone Sangiovese continues the story of the local land barons under a new Italian-inspired label. This wine, harvested from Wheatfield Vines, captures the essence of farming, location, and tradition—and Steve and Alan’s commitment to all three. This will be the first wine from the new Terre Barone (Italian for “land baron” and pronounced bear-OH-nay) label.

Vital Wines Donation One of the best features about the Washington wine industry is our sense of community and willingness
