Capital Call Vintners is proud to announce that we are now the exclusive wine provider for Arnolds Park, a beloved and popular 137-year-old amusement park on the shores of Iowa’s Lake Okoboji. We are excited to introduce our wines to this new audience.
How did this collaboration come to be? The same way many of our Capital Call stories start: Steve and Guillermo were sitting at a restaurant bar enjoying dinner and a glass of wine and struck up a conversation with the two guys also drinking wine next to them—who turned out to be Arnold Park CEO Jon Pausley and Director of Sales and Strategic Planning Joseph Cookinham. The two execs were intrigued by the idea of a wine provider that would be enticing to their multi-generational patrons.
“We’ve been a favorite family getaway for generations,” said Pausley. While only 15,000 people live in town year-round, on summer weekends those numbers swell to 100,000 visitors. The Park is within a few hours’ drive of Des Moines area and the Twin Cities.
And now, those thousands of guests can find Capital Call wines at all of Arnold Park’s restaurants, concert venues, event spaces, and at its summer Saturday morning farmer’s market.
Arnolds Park is expanding its programming to ensure all generations of visitors have enjoyable and memorable experiences—and that those experiences are paired with Capital Call wines. Throughout the summer, they host Sunday night “Boomers and Crooners” concerts on their Roof Garden Ballroom and “Live at the Lake” performances by a variety of bands at their outdoor amphitheater.

The Lakeview Deck is always crowded on during the summer. We think our soon-to-be-released Blanc de Noirs and Sauvignon Blanc will be very in-demand on warm afternoons and evenings. As the park is lakeside, boaters are able to pull up, anchor, and enjoy the concert music and Saturday night fireworks. They can also come ashore to purchase bottles of Capital Call wines and a branded ice bucket to take back to their boats.
On May 31, Arnolds Park and Capital Call are co-hosting an exclusive progressive wine dinner created by Chef Grant Gillon. The evening begins with a pour of Capital Call’s Blanc de Blancs and a light first course dockside. Guests will then board the Queen II yacht for a private cruise around Lake Okojobi while enjoying passed appetizers and their second course. The final three courses will be served on the rooftop deck as the sun sets. This experience is limited to 50 people. You can reserve your seat here.
Starting in late June, The Lakeview Deck Reserve Series will be held every Tuesday evening where guests can enjoy flights of Capital Call wines, charcuterie, and a spectacular view. Select cigars and bourbons will also be available.
And for those who simply want to grab a burger and a glass of Cab with the family at one of the park’s many casual eateries, we’ve got you covered there, too.
We are very excited by the opportunity to add elevated wine options for Arnold Park’s many visitors and for them to enjoy Capital Call wines wherever they like—on the lakeside dock, at a concert, on the Queen II, or relaxing on their boat.
