We are excited and proud to announce that Bryan Walters has been promoted to General Manager of Capital Call Vintners. Bryan has been Walla Walla tasting room manager since it opened two years ago.
With decades of managerial experience, including opening new stores, Bryan has been a natural at running the tasting room. His focus on hospitality has created a relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere where our guests feel comfortable asking any questions about Capital Call wine—and wine in general—knowing that our staff will warmly welcome their inquiries and engage in non-judgmental conversation.
A large part of his new position is taking on off-premise sales and distribution for the company. As Capital Call is self-distributed in Washington and Oregon, Bryan will be crisscrossing these two states quite a bit, pouring at bottle shops, restaurants, and wine walks to introduce Capital Call to new audiences.
“I’ll be spending more time on the road and out in the community,” Bryan said. When he is home in Walla Walla, he’ll be planning more wine dinners and collaborative events for wine club members, visitors, and locals. He and co-owner Steve Bruere are in the early stages of planning an event for wine club members in Iowa, tentatively slated for next spring.
As Capital Call’s first General Manager, Bryan is building the role to both fit today’s needs and the winery’s future plans, as well as relieve Steve of some tasks.
“Steve has been very hands-on and will continue to be,” Bryan said. “But this allows him to step back and focus less on the day-to-day and focus more energy on strategy.”
How dedicated is Bryan to expanding the reach of Capital Call wines? On his recent Alaskan vacation cruise, Bryan arranged to bring and pour our Blanc de Blancs for his fellow cruisers. Lucky them!
Congratulations, Bryan! We are lucky to have you as a leader on our team.
